Barchart Review
Our Barchart review looks at one of the industry’s leading charting and analysis platforms for the global markets. If you’re looking for an all in one solution with a customizable stock screener, charting analysis, and market news, then Barchart is for you. Don’t be fooled by the name of the site, Barchart is much more than just a charting tool. Not only will Barchart provide you with the tools for technical analysis, but the stock screener provides actionable stock picks.

Review of Barchart as a Scanner
While some sites offer a great stock screener and others provide exceptional charting, Barchart has both. Throw in a ton of extras like real-time market news and insights, a fully customizable alert center, and even free educational webinars and newsletters.
Even with all these features, is Barchart.com worth your subscription? Let’s take a deeper dive in our Barchart review! Despite being called Barchart, the stock screener is, in my opinion, the heart and soul of the platform.
If you haven’t used a stock screener before, then Barchart is an excellent one to start with. It’s such a clean and easy layout that is intuitive for even the most non-tech savvy traders.
Simply set your filters or even add new ones that can help narrow down your search. If you find a particular setup that works for you, save it in your screeners and load it next time. When you’re happy with the search criteria for your screener, his See Results and prepare to have your mind blown!
The results screen for the Barchart stock screener is simple and highly functional. You can refresh in real-time while the markets are open, and you can even download your results.
Perhaps one of the coolest functions is the integration of Barchart’s charting system as well. Clicking on the Flipcharts option opens up a new window with the stock chart for every stock in your results.
Once you’ve found your stock results you can even toggle through different screener modes. The different views include Technical, Performance, Fundamental, or custom. What does each screener mode mean? Let’s take a look.
Technical Screener
This view allows you to sort your screener results by key technical indicators. These include market sentiment, 20 day relative strength, 20 day historical volatility, 20 day average trading volume, and the 52-week high and low prices. That makes us excited in this Barchart review.
Performance Screener
The Performance Screener provides a live look at how the stock has performed over the past month, three months, 52-weeks, and year to date. So if you’re looking for history, you’ve got it. Let’s continue with out Barchart review.
Fundamental Screener
The Fundamental view provides an in depth look at the stock’s financials. It shows metrics like Market cap, PE ratio, trailing 12-month EPS, net income, and dividend yield.
So think about all of this information you can get by simply applying your filters and hitting search. Barchart’s screener provides you with a full technical and fundamental analysis, as well as relative performance. This is why I think the screener is the heart of the platform. Everything you need to know about a stock or a group of stocks is in one screen!
Their Charts
Now, what about the namesake of the site? Barchart.com is also an excellent charting platform if you really just need to run some technical analysis.
Included in the charts are fully customizable settings and indicators. Feel free to draw and mark up your charts as you please. If you like your work, you can save or print your chart within the platform. That’s what we love about this Barchart review.
One feature I also love is the ability to have an end of day chart for any stock automatically emailed to you. It’s just another nice touch that Barchart.com has added to make things a little easier for us.
Another great touch from Barchart are the little tutorial links that are located around the site. These lead right to an instructional video that can help traders of any experience level. It’s all part of the theme of educating investors that both Barchart and Bullish Bears share.
Dashboard
The dashboard is a great tool that provides you everything you need to tackle the market in one convenient screen.
You can have live charts up on the screen while toggling through your custom watchlists, portfolio, or charts on the navigation panel on the right side of the screen.
Here you can pull up any stock chart you want and add it to your watchlist or set a live alert. It is truly a condensed version of the entire platform in a single view.
Education
One upgrade that Barchart has made over the years is to its educational offerings for its users. If there’s any site that can appreciate greater financial education, it’s us here at Bullish Bears!
We found in this Barchart review that you have access to a series of live and archived webinars. These are delivered by experts from the Barchart Trading Education team.
Barchart also provides a ton of other educational content. Topics like Futures 101, Options 101, Order Types, and Technical Indicators are just some of the courses you can take as a Barchart member. The site even offers a Commodity Conversions page, and an in depth glossary for all stock and futures terms.
Overall, the educational content will never be the reason one signs up for Barcharts.com. But the wide array of content is a nice added bonus, especially for new traders. In my opinion, it is the most underrated part of the Barchart subscription, and is something that can help traders of all experience levels.
Other Barchart Features
At this point I should add that the screeners and charts are not just for individual stocks. You can use them for all types of assets including ETFs, Options, Futures, and Currencies as well. For those who like to sell options contracts for premium, I highly recommend the covered calls and naked puts screeners.
Barcharts.com has also done an excellent job of adding in real-time market news on its landing page. There is a live news feed as well as up to date market performance, and a quick view of your watchlist. There are countless other features that Barchart.com is constantly adding to its platform. Barchart.com is successfully evolving from just a charting tool to a full investing ecosystem.
What Does Barchart Cost? (Pricing Review)
Okay, so that all sounds great. What’s the catch? Is this subscription going to cost you an arm and a leg? Actually, no! Barchart has very reasonable pricing and even offers a free version with limited features. Upgrading to a Barchart Premier membership provides the following perks:

So how much does all of this cost? A very reasonable annual rate of just $16.67 per month which also includes a 30-day free trial! Users can also subscribe at a monthly rate of $29.95 per month. And if you click the link below in this Barchart review, you’ll get a deal they gave to our community.
As you can see, if you choose the annual rate you pay a one-time cost of $199.95 per year or $368.00 for two years. Do you want to try them out? Click the this link to do their free trial.
Customer Support
The customer support is decent but not outstanding for Barchart. There is no phone number or live chat function, so the only way you can contact Barchar is through a submitted message. You can then enter your email address and receive the response directly to your inbox. Again, it’s not great, especially if you have an urgent issue that needs to be dealt with.
Verdict
If you sign up for a Barchart membership thinking it is just a charting platform, you’ll be pleasantly surprised. The site offers an in depth stock screener that makes sifting through the thousands of stocks, a breeze. You can fully customize your screener settings and use them over and over to your heart’s content.
Barchart also offers exceptional educational services for new traders, and a real-time news feed so you can always keep one eye on the markets. What’s more, Barchart.com even has a dedicated mobile app for both Android and iOS.
Overall, Barchart definitely deserves your time and there is little harm in signing up for the 30-day free trial. After that, even though there is a free version, I’d say a price of $16.67 per month is a small price to pay.
