Handbook of Project Stargate

Are you looking for a handbook of Project Stargate? On January 21, 2025, after his inauguration, Donald Trump and his administration announced a collaboration with various leading technology firms for Project Stargate.

This $500B venture will aim to establish cutting-edge AI infrastructure across the US. If everything goes according to plan, the US will be positioned to become the global leader in AI development while addressing critical challenges in energy, computing power, and technological sovereignty.

There are still many ifs, such as funding and the obvious uncertainty about Trump’s administration.

So far, from our handbook of Project Stargate, we know they will collaborate with the Trump administration, various tech companies, and the UAE’s MGX sovereign fund. Here is what this project will focus on:

  • Constructing hyperscale data centers and a large-scale facility in Abilene, Texas. Other news outlets indicate that OpenAI is scouting 16 other states for potential sites. Many states have reached out to them already.
  • Deploying next-generation AI hardware, including NVIDIA’s advanced GPUs and custom silicon solutions.
  • Modernizing the US energy grid to support AI’s massive power demands.
  • Accelerating the development of AGI and commercial AI applications in healthcare, manufacturing, and scientific research.

What Will Project Stargate Do?

The handbook of Project Stargate aims to create over 100,000 jobs, with $100B allocated for immediate deployment and the remaining $400B invested through 2028. This is a very promising project that will benefit the US. I hope that everything that is promised with Stargate will happen. Here are a few more technological and economic objectives:

  • AI Leadership: Countering China’s advancements, such as the cost-efficient DeepSeek-R1 model, by ensuring US dominance in AI infrastructure.
  • Energy Infrastructure: Addressing AI’s huge energy needs with expanded oil/gas production and renewable energy projects.
  • Job Creation: Prioritizing construction, data center operations, and AI engineering roles. Each campus is anticipated to create thousands of jobs, including construction and operational positions.
  • Public-Private Collaboration: Leveraging Oracle’s cloud infrastructure, SoftBank’s capital, and OpenAI’s research capabilities under streamlined federal oversight. As we see below, many more companies will be involved in this massive project.

Handbook of Project Stargate Companies

Many US and foreign companies will benefit from Project Stargate. They will contribute their expertise and reap the rewards if everything goes according to plan. We’ll see if a handbook of Project Stargate will bring that success. I’m sorry for my skepticism.

Softbank (OTCMKTS: SFTBY)

Softbank is the first in the handbook of Project Stargate companies. It will be the lead financier and strategic partner for Project Stargate. The Japanese multinational investment holding company will share lead partnership status with OpenAI.

It will handle financial management while OpenAI will oversee operations. Softbank participated in multiple rounds of funding for OpenAI and is considering an additional investment for this project.

NVIDIA (NASDAQ: NVDA)

Next, in the handbook of Project Stargate, this project had to involve one of the world’s most volatile but promising companies. NVIDIA’s role will be to supply hardware and software for training and deploying large-scale AI models.

Its GPUs are essential to powering the computational demands of Stargate’s planned 20 data centers. They handle complex tasks like quantum computing simulations and autonomous systems development.

Analysts are projecting billions in annual revenue from hardware sales, software licensing, and cloud services tied to the project. Some say it could lead to a 30% growth in annual revenue.

Oracle (NYSE: ORCL)

Per the handbook of Project Stargate, Oracle will play a key role. It will be responsible for constructing and operating advanced data centers critical to supporting AI development.

The company has already begun building 10 data centers in Texas to expand to 20 sites nationwide. These facilities will house the computing systems needed to train next-gen AI models, including those developed by OpenAI.

By the project’s end, Oracle aims to strengthen its competitive edge against AWS and Azure in AI cloud services. The company also hopes to develop its healthcare ambitions with AI-driven cancer detection tools and mRNA vaccine development. This is a huge project for Oracle.

Stargate

Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT)

Microsoft will benefit from this collaboration due to its long-standing collaboration with OpenAI. While Microsoft is no longer the exclusive provider of new cloud computing capacity to OpenAI, it retains the right of first refusal to host OpenAI workloads in its cloud infrastructure.

This change in their relationship allows OpenAI to work with other partners on the Stargate project, including Oracle and SoftBank, while maintaining its ties with Microsoft. Microsoft will also provide cloud computing resources through its Azure platform.

Thanks to Stargate, Microsoft will benefit from its rights to OpenAI’s IP for its AI products and OpenAI’s API exclusivity to Azure. Although it may not be the primary beneficiary of this project, its ties to OpenAI are more important than ever.

Broadcom (NASDAQ: AVGO)

We continue with the latest in the handbook of Project Stargate inductees in the trillion-dollar company club. Broadcom will supply AI-focused infrastructure and custom silicon design (semiconductors with a specific purpose), which should generate billions of dollars in revenue.

The company’s IP ownership related to chip architecture, software, and packaging will strengthen its position in the project.

As Project Stargate advances, Broadcom will likely see increased product demand, especially when custom silicon becomes a priority. Expecting a $2T market cap by the end of this project might not be crazy.

Micron (NASDAQ: MU)

Project Stargate will have a high demand for connectivity and storage. As a manufacturer of high-performance memory components, Micron should have its hands full.

They should see the rising demand for their high-bandwidth memory products. As the 20 data centers come online, they will require vast amounts of memory to handle the massive datasets.

ARM Holdings (NASDAQ: ARM)

We continue with ARM, which will complement NVIDIA and supply CPU designs for Project Stargate. ARM has been doubling its AI processing capabilities yearly for the past decade.

As a result, 70% of AI in today’s third-party applications are running on its CPUs. The company is also known for its energy efficiency for AI workloads, a huge project component.

The company is expected to play an important role and earn hefty royalties for its contributions. Despite this positivity, some are skeptical about ARM’s involvement due to its inconsistent quarterly earnings.

Credo Technology (NASDAQ: CRDO)

We conclude this section with Credo Technology, likely the least-known company on this list. Credo’s expertise lies in high-speed connectivity.

Its technology will address the demand for high-bandwidth and low-power solutions. According to some analysts, Credo has the necessary foundation and technological capabilities to meet Stargate’s requirements. Credo has established its high-speed and data transmission niche.

Final Thoughts on Handbook of Project Stargate

To conclude the handbook of Project Stargate, it is still too early to say with certainty whether it is too far-fetched or will succeed in making the US the global AI leader.

For now, OpenAI and its partners have found their first site and are looking for many more. If this project is successful, the promised $500B investment could bring much more wealth to the US and its many companies.

I like the idea of creating everything on home soil, but many risks are involved. We will see how well this project advances over time. I am skeptical, but I hope to be proven wrong.
